A psychic thriller starring Donald Sutherland, and a very lovely looking Julie Christie makes it’s appearance in the 101 Horror Movies. Though the last moments are a little creepy, and the ending of Blair Witch could be seen as an homage of sorts, this film tends to fall more on the poetic side than scary….

Last House On The Left (1972)
The 1970s kicked horror into a whole new gear as the films became grittier, and a new school of up and coming filmmakers began to make their mark. The 101 Horror Movies brought the first film by Wes Craven into the list, and this film is brutal and terrifying. Produced by Sean Cunningham, how would…
Blacula (1972)
It’s been awhile since I had time to settle in and keep working through the 101 Horror Movies but I finally had time to settle back into the early 70s and watched the next one on my list – the blaxploitation film Blacula. My first reaction when the opening credits started rolling was… Gordon Pinsent?…
Comic Con: Episode IV A Fan’s Hope
I wanted to see this movie since I first heard about it but misses the chance when it premiered last August at the Toronto International Film Festival. A lot of people I know saw it and liked it, and I love a good con, so would it live up to the hype? I like Morgan…
Continuum – Meet Alec
When CPS protector Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols) arrives in the year 2012, catapulted there by a group of escaping terrorists from the group Liber8, she finds herself conversing with a young techno-wizard named Alec. Played by Erik Knudsen, Alec will become a valuable ally to the displaced Kiera, aiding her on her quest to track…
The Killing – Day 20 – Keylela
Poor Holder. He’s not even surprised anymore when Linden kicks him out of the car, but he’s definitely not going quietly anymore. The respect and genuine care between these two characters becomes more and more evident with each passing episode, and now, even when they argue, their words may cut deeper, but you get…
Game of Thrones S02 E05 & E06
I missed out on doing a post last week for Game of Thrones Episode 5 because Sue and I were hip deep in the awesomeness that is Hot Docs. So this evening, I sat down and worked my way through two episodes back to back to catch up on all the scheming, betrayal and murder……
The Avengers
There’s not much I can say for The Avengers that hasn’t already been said over the weekend. For me it has already entered the pantheon of greatest comic book movies of all time. It’s fun, loud, funny, exciting, and for me, it actively conveyed everything that not only a comic book movie, but a comic…
Getting into Continuum – Meet Kiera Cameron
Showcase, continuing to prove that Canadian television rocks, is about to premiere a new series, Continuum, on May 27th. And it looks like our good friend Bo from Lost Girl may have some competition in the strong, sexy female lead department. I got a sneak peek at it over the weekend thanks to our good…
The Killing – Day 19 – Openings
Okay. Please bear with me – my brain is still going a mile a minute after this episode, and I know I’ve missed things and that I’ll be forgetting things – or even getting them wrong. But let’s just jump in and see what we come up with, shall we? Terry – bless. Dude…
