This week’s instalment of Rebels brings me the next three episodes in the first season and Fighter Flight is probably one of the weakest episodes of the series, while still remaining entertaining. Written by Kevin Hopps, this episode first debuted on 20 October, 2014. We’re still early in the series, and everyone is getting to…

Star Wars: Rebels (2014) – Spark of Rebellion, and Droids in Distress
Where The Clone Wars took us to the years between The Attack of the Clones, and The Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: Rebels takes us to the time between Sith and A New Hope (as well as Rogue One and Solo). Dave Filoni who served as the showrunner of The Clone Wars, is also…
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2020) – The Phantom Apprentice, Shattered, and Victory and Death
Events happening in these last trio of episodes happen concurrently with those of The Revenge of the Sith. And this is it, the end of the Clone Wars. Showrunner Dave Filoni pens these last episodes which aired on 24 April, 1 and 4 May, 2020 respectively. Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) leads Republic forces to Mandalore…
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2020) – Dangerous Debt, Together Again, and Old Friends Not Forgotten
“Who you were does not have to define who you are.” Dave Filoni and Charles Murray continue the Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) and Martez sisters arc, which still doesn’t seem to be as engaging as other episodes throughout the series. Captured in the previous episode by the Pykes, Ahsoka, Rafa (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and Trace (Brigitte…
Star Wars: Extraordinary Droids (2020) – Simon Beecroft
This week sees another release from DK Canada’s Star Wars library, focusing on those wonderful, amazing and Extraordinary Droids. This entry in the DK Books Star Wars series is definitely aimed at the younger readers, filled with big full page pictures of droids, and a descriptive paragraph for characters both familiar and new. The book…
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2012) – A War On Two Fronts, Front Runners, and The Soft War
“Fear is a malleable weapon.” Season Five of The Clone Wars got underway with Revival, which actually comes later in the chronology, so first up for us is A War on Two Fronts. Written by Chris Collins, this episode launched on 6 October, 2012. Obi-Wan Kenobi (James Arnold Taylor), Anakin Skywalker (Matt Lanter), Ahsoka Tano…
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2011) – Witches of the Mist, Overlords, and Altar of Mortis
“The path to evil may bring great power, but not loyalty.” Katie Lucas continues with the Dathomir/Nightsisters arc that is proving to be so epic, and so essentially Star Wars in the episode Witches of the Mist, which first aired on 21 January, 2011. While Count Dooku (Corey Burton) works to train and use his…
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
A space age fairy tale. No matter the themes, social commentary or underpinnings we wish to assign the Skywalker Saga, culminating with the release of Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, Star Wars has always been a space age fairy tale – there are princesses (turned general), knights (both good and bad), evil lords, fortresses,…

I’ve raved about Lego, and Star Wars on this blog a number of times over the course of this blog, and digging into DK Canada’s new edition of its brilliant Lego Star Wars: Visual Dictionary just fires up the imagination again. The new version has added material, and talks about the twenty year relationship between…
