Having just finished the amazing Netflix series (seriously, watch it) and loving the Robert Wise film, I felt it was time to re-read the original novel, something I’m sure I hadn’t done for about twenty years. In fact, I think I read it just before that abomination by Jan De Bont was released in 1999….

After five seasons, Teen Titans Go! made the leap to the silver screen, and now, comes home this week on DVD and blu-ray thanks to Warner Brothers. Let’s be clear, I’ve never sen anything of the television series, though I am aware of the Titans featured in the series. There’s Robin (Scott Menville), Beast Boy…

Twins of Evil (1971) -John Hough
Hammer Films last film in the Karnstein trilogy, Twins of Evil, is the next film to sink my fangs into as I continue to explore John Landis’ Monsters in the Movies from DK Canada. Alfie (1966) – Lewis Gilbert
Micheal Caine is charming and roguish as the philanderer Alfie. Bill Naughton pens the script from his play of the same name. Popping up on the What Else to Watch list following my screening of Saturday Night and Sunday Morning for the very enjoyable The Movie Book from DK Canada. Breaking the fourth wall on…

Having had its Toronto premiere last week at Toronto After Dark, writer/director Justin P. Lange’s film, an Austrian-Canadian co-production hits VOD today. Despite its bloody and horrific trappings, The Dark is a gentle tale that sees a young girl, Mina (Nadia Alexander, best known for her work in The Sinner) become a monster because of…

Miami Vice (1986) – Definitely Miami, and Yankee Dollar
A fantastic episode is hindered by the presence of Ted Nugent (ugh), as I head back to Miami for more Vice. Definitely Miami aired 10 January, 1986 and was written by Micheal Ahnemann and Daniel Pyne is a Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) story that plays out brilliantly. Callie Bassett (Arielle Dombasle) and her husband Charlie (Nugent)…
