Star Trek: Discovery – Season Four (2022) Blu-Ray Review
Paramount Pictures invites back out to the final frontier with their Blu-ray release of Star Trek: Discovery – Season Four. The series and the characters have really found their groove, and the season arc this time around feels like classic Trek; there is fear of the unknown, there is the desire to strike out at…
Star Trek: Picard – Season Two (2022) – Blu-Ray Review
Paramount Canada sends Star Trek: Picard – Season Two home today on blu-ray and DVD! The three disc set is packed with extras, and no matter where you fall on the continuation of Patrick Stewart’s iconic turn as Jean-Luc Picard, it is fantastic, nonetheless, to see the character return again. This time around, there is…
Star Trek 4K – The Human Adventure Continues…
So much Trek to get through! Paramount Pictures delivers the goods with their 4K releases this week. I remember where I was the first time I saw each film, and I was a recently turned eight-year-old who sat in the theatre in CFB Borden as Christmas drew closer, and I sat and loved every minute…
Star Trek: Lower Decks (2021) Season 2 – Blu-Ray Review
Lower Decks has been a gift for Star Trek fans, and Paramount Canada lets you bring home the Emmy-nominated second season on Blu-ray today. The series has been a join since its premiere, delivering comedy and in-jokes while still being Star Trek at its core. Over the course of the ten episodes of season two,…
Star Trek Phase II: The Lost Series (1997) – Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens
Simon & Schuster Books takes me back to the early to mid-70s when I was a child and had just discovered the wonder of what was Star Trek: The Original Series in reruns. While I was meeting Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and the rest for the first time, Paramount and the creative minds behind the scenes,…
Star Trek: First Frontier (1995) – Diane Carey and Dr. James I. Kirkland
It has been a while since I’ve explored the final frontier as documented in Simon & Schusters’ Star Trek novels. I’ve been craving lots of Trek recently, so it seemed like a perfect time to dive back into the adventures of Kirk and company. This time around Diane Carey, who has written several Trek novels,…
Star Trek: Discovery – Wonderlands (2021) – Una McCormack
Una McCormack delivers another engaging Trek novel, and having firmly cemented herself in the role of my favorite Star Trek author, I dug into this one, Wonderlands, now available from Simon & Schuster through their Gallery Books imprint, with abandon. It’s 3188. Commander Michael Burnham has been catapulted some 900 years into the future, as…
Star Trek: Discovery – Die Standing (2020) – John Jackson Miller
This week’s Star Trek journey, provided by Simon & Schuster, through their Gallery Books imprint, takes us to the point between the end of season one of Discovery, and Emperor Philippa Georgiou’s return as a part of Section 31 in season two. What did she get up to, and how does it tie into the…
Star Trek: Discovery – Dead Endless (2019) – Dave Galanter
Set in 2257, the next novel in Simon & Schuster’s Star Trek: Discovery series, released under their Gallery Books imprint is an emotional tale that highlights one of my favorite characters in the series, Dr. Hugh Culber. Culber’s death in Season One of Discovery was a shock, and made me furious. But then as the…
