Scott Rosenbaum pens Chuck Versus the First Kill which debuted on 13 April, 2009. While the staff at BuyMore try to deal with Emmett’s (Tony Hale) evaluation and whether or not they move against him, Chuck (Zachary Levi) is hoping for leads and information about his father’s (Scott Bakula) location, since he’s being held by…

Star Trek: Discovery (2017) – Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad, and Si Vas Pacem, Para Bellum
Captain’s log: stardate 2136.8 (which is a bit weird considering when the story takes place, and how stardates work in the next episode, not to mention The Original Series) Aron Eli Coleite and Jesse Alexander pen Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad, which first aired on 29 October, 2017. Harry Mudd (Rainn Wilson)…
Hell Comes To Frogtown (1988) – Donald G. Jackson, and R.J. Kizer
DK Canada’s Monsters in the Movies brings me to the end of their chapter on Atomic Mutations with this delightful and so bad it’s enjoyable film starring Roddy Pipper, Sandahl Bergman and William Smith… Hell Comes to Frogtown. A decade after humanity has been almost completely wiped out after a planet shattering nuclear war, a…
Shadow of a Doubt (1943) – Alfred Hitchock
It’s time for a little more Hitchcock as I dive into another old favourite, Shadow of a Doubt starring Teresa Wright and Joseph Cotten. A coming-of-age tale with a twist of murder, this film remains completely captivating thanks to the direction, the leading and the wonderful supporting cast which are all recognisable to anyone who…
Star Wars: Rebels (2015) – Call to Action, Rebel Resolve, and Fire Across the Galaxy
We dive into the final three episodes of the inaugural season of Star Wars: Rebels this week. First up is Call to Action. Written by Greg Weisman and Simon Kinberg and originally aired on 26 January, 2015. The spark of rebellion is spreading across the galaxy, so to draw even more attention to it, the…
Never Say Never Again (1983) – Irvin Kershner
Sean Connery returns to his iconic role of James Bond, in this non-canon film that is basically a beat for beat remake of the classic 007 film, Thunderball. And there’s a reason for that. Going head to head with Roger Moore’s Bond outing of Octopussy, Warner Brothers had the rights to make a 007 film…

Captain’s log: December 2256 Kemp Powers pens the teleplay for Choose Your Pain from a story by Gretchen J. Berg, Aaron Harberts and Kemp. Chuck (2009) – Versus the Broken Heart, and Versus the Dream Job
Ali Adler pens the first episode up this week, Chuck Versus the Broken Heart. It first aired on 30 March, 2009. General Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) begins to think that Chuck’s (Zachary Levi) feelings for Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) are complicating their ongoing mission, and the team’s protection of him. So she implements a 49B, and sends…
Star Trek: Discovery (2017) – Context is For Kings, and The Butcher’s Knife Cares Not For The Lamb’s Cry

Discovery following the two premiere episodes that will give us context for Micheal Burnham’s (Sonequa Martin-Green) character, actions, and set up the new Trek universe we find ourselves in. Gretchen J. Berg, Aaron Harberts and Craig Sweeny pen the teleplay for this episode…
Scoob! (2020) – Blu-Ray Review
I have been a Scooby-Doo (voiced originally by Don Messick and now by the one and only Frank Welker (who played the original Fred Jones, and transitioned to Scooby in 2002)), fan since I first discovered him in the mid-70s as I spent Saturday mornings (the only time cartoons were on back in the day)…
