Magnum P.I. (2020) – The Night Has Eyes, and A World of Trouble

Magnum (Jay Hernandez) and Higgins (Perdita Weeks) are on the hunt for a stolen urn that may have been used in a murder and may in fact be more valuable than initially thought. Higgins also has to deal with the fact that her temporary visa is days away from expiring.

Written by Ashley Charbonnet, this episode was first broadcast on 24 April, 2020.

While Magnum seems to be getting parking ticket on parking ticket for leaving the Ferrari in the wrong place, the pair work to puzzle through the case, and solve Higgins’ immigration problems. She could get married for her green card?

The urn may contain information on a decades-old crime which could lead to manslaughter charges for a high-profile businessman and has led to a blackmail scheme which devolved into murder.

Meanwhile, at La Mariana, Rick (Zachary Knighton) and T.C. (Stephen Hill) are dealing with a used car salesman, Eddie (Andre Reed), who is cashing in on the fact that he looks like retired NFL footballer, Andre Reed.

It’s a solid and entertaining episode, and has a nice bit of stuntwork involving jumping from a bridge onto a transport truck. It also lays the groundwork for where the season finale has to go… Higgins’ visa problems. She may have to go back to the UK and reapply, something that could take more than six months, and since she overstayed her visa’s welcome, she could be denied.

So will they get married to save the day?

Oh and what about those parking tickets?

A World of Trouble was written by Tera Tolentino and Neil Tolkin and debuted on 1 May, 2020.

Higgins has agreed to fake marry Magnum, and as their wedding day draws closer, they find themselves coming to the aid of a school has been receiving anonymous gifts from a Robin Hood-like donor. Now it seems the person who was helping them has disappeared, but they don’t know who it is, or what kind of trouble they are in. Things take an interesting turn when everything the school received seems to have been stolen before being donated to the needy school.

Rick and T.C. are helping a retired serviceman, Sean Murphy (Billy Malone) enter civilian life, and find a job.

And Jin (Bobby Lee) is back.

In the background throughout the episode, is the prep for the wedding, Higgins has asked Kumu (Amy Hill) to be her maid of honor, Rick and T.C. are organizing a bachelor party, and things are going ahead full speed.

Katsumoto (Tim Kang) warns Higgins that maybe she shouldn’t go through with this. It’s going to be a tough thing to pull off, especially being business partners, so perhaps Higgins can come up with another option? And she does, calling off the wedding to Magnum, to keep their business relationship safe, and agrees to marry T.C.!
