It’s a fun pair of episodes this week with the boys. First up is The Battle of Bel Air, which was written by Frank Lupo and had an airdate of 10 January, 1984… And just like that Amy Allen (Melinda Culea) is gone, according to the episode, we learn that she apparently took an overseas assignment and doesn’t come back during the run of the series.
We are however, treated to a new investigative reporter, the sultry Tawnia Baker (Marla Heasley), who is investigating a security firm, Intermode, and leans of an upcoming assassination attempt planned by the company of a foreign diplomat that day at 2pm. She also learns the location of the A-Team, as Colonel Decker (Lance LeGault) is about to nab them.
Meeting up with Hannibal (George Peppard), who is suggesting getting out of the country for a while to lose Decker, Face (Dirk Benedict) who is running a sporting goods store in an attempt to get to know a couple of lovely ladies, B.A. (Mr. T), and Murdock (Dwight Schultz), she warns them, and tries to convince them to let her join the team and help out with new coverage.
Hannibal is less than convinced, but does take the job of breaking into Intermode, smacking the bad guys down, and hopefully saving the diplomat.
Kurtwood Smith guest stars as one of the baddies, and no one on the team believes it when Face tells them that he got tossed out of a ten-story window into a pool!
Oh, and we’re supposed to believe that all the bad guys walked away from a fiery helicopter explosion only to be arrested (and we see it happen!!).
Say It With Bullets was written by Richard Christian Matheson and Thomas E. Szollosi with an original airdate of 17 January, 1984. While Murdock is channeling his own golden age of television, complete with remote, the Team is approached by a Corporal Brown (Lauren Chase) to stop the men who murdered her brother…
A group of military men who are running guns off of their base, and selling them to the highest bidder. The team is determined to take these bad guys down, but Brown may have more on the go than she’s revealing.
It seems she brokered a deal with Decker. If she tries to hire the A-Team to find her brother’s killer, and then delivers them to him, he’ll find the men responsible for the death, and shut down the gun-running.
So when the trap is sprung on the boys, who have come this close to stopping the weapons ring, they hide out on the big military base, in fact, they do so right in the guest house that Decker is staying at, while he is out searching for them!
They take on Decker, with a stereo, sound effects, and big tank!
It ends up being a pretty fun episode, and has some fun moments. And it is nice to see that Decker apparently seems to pose a real threat to them.
Until next time!!
