This film is almost Lynch-ian in its style. Dialogue is sparse, there are no establishing shots, and there is odd and haunting imagery, all of which combine to give a rather spooky experience. And once again, if it hadn’t been for that handy little book, 101 Horror Movies To See Before You Die, I never…

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) & Jekyll (2007)
So after an amazing day yesterday, I settled in to watch another film from the 101 Horror Movies book. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde starring Fredric March in the duel role. Two points – number one, I liked it. Number two, I didn’t like the name pronunciation, I’ve always grown up calling him Doctor…
Vampire Diaries – Back With A Vengeance!!!
WOW! I have few words – and nothing but praise – for last night’s return episode of The Vampire Diaries! Our favourite characters of Mystic Falls exploded back onto the screen with somehow even more power and intensity than that with which they left us before the holidays! I don’t want to spoil anything…
Bomb Girls
It’s amazing. I was just saying last night how fantastic Canadian television has been of late. We have Lost Girl, Flashpoint, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13, Degrassi, Rookie Blue. The list goes on. And tonight it just got bigger. Global television and Shaw Media took us back in time to the Toronto of the 1940s. There’s a…
My Geek Out Moment of the Day
As we know, I am a huge fan of the re-imagined Sherlock currently airing on BBC. What I just found online, and I’m sure it’s been there for awhile, is Watson’s actual blog from the show. I did a little geek-dance, hardly complimentary I know, but I was just so elated to find it, and…
Degrassi Junior High – Season 1
Ahhh, junior high. I really don’t remember it looking that much fun. Course I was a pretty geeky looking kid trying his best to fit in, while living in a country that was not my own, though I did grow to love it as if it were. Still, the stories and cast of Degrassi Junior…
The Wolf Man (1941)
1941. A long time ago, with the world on the cusp of another global conflict… But meanwhile at Universal Studios… They were busy bringing us the last of the Big Three Monsters to round out their house of horror. Lon Chaney, Jr plays the titular lycanthrope in this imagining of the werewolf legend. Larry…
Is It Sunday Yet? Sherlock S02 E02
This coming Sunday, Sherlock takes on an updated version of The Hounds of The Baskerville! If it’s anything like the episodes that have come before it, then it should prove to be a lot of fun. I can’t get enough of Freeman’s Watson, nor Cumberbatch’s Holmes (I love the expressions on his face in the…
T5 or Tim’s Top Ten Temporal Tales
My thoughts spun off their axis for a while last night, and circled back around to the idea of top ten lists. We tend to love lists for some reason, and as my eyes raked my collection of films, I decided to throw together my list of favorite time travel films, or if not necessarily…
Bachelor Chatter
Well, here we are…a new season is upon us as bachelor Ben Flajnik takes centre stage on his quest to find true love. Last night saw a parade of – let’s say interesting and memorable – women, pass by Ben between the limos (and one horse) and the Bachelor mansion. The field was whittled down…
