Alliances debuted on 21 March, 2011. It was written by Linda McGibney.
Telford (Lou Dimond Phillips) the only person to make it through the gate back to Earth has returned to Destiny via the communication stones, to let the crew know that a couple of visitors, a senator (Kathleen Quinlan) and a doctor (French Stewart who played Ferreti in the orignal Stargate movie) are coming for a tour, and decide whether things will be worth it to get another Icarus base up.
There’s a lot of character bits, as the senators dig into trying to understand the Destiny and what is going on.
Meanwhile, Greer (Jamil Walker Smith) and Camile (Ming-Na Wen) use the stones to return to Earth. Greer’s first trip back. And when they arrive, they learn the attack by the Lucian Alliance is imminent, and everything is on high alert.
An explosion traps them in the building, and with rising radiation, there is danger all around. And there is the possibility of a bomb in the area, primed to go off.
Will Greer and Camile be able to find and deactivate the bomb before time runs out? And what happens when they get a lethal dose of exposure of radiation? And what about Lucian Alliance moles within the building.
But the answer to defusing the bomb may be aboard Destiny, among the Lucian Alliance who surrendered to Young (Louis Ferreira). But will Greer and Camile be able to return home, and will the senator and the doctor sacrifice themselves by returning home?
But the doctor has also fouled up the connection. And now… they can no longer communicate with Earth. Can it be fixed?
Honestly, while not a horrible episode, this one isn’t as good as it could have been. And there’s only seven episodes left in the series! There is some nice stuff between Smith and Wen though.

Hope was written by Carl Binder and debuted on 28 March, 2011.
Unable to contact Earth, the crew of the Destiny don’t know if the Earth has survived the Lucian Alliance attack. They keep attempting to connect with the communication stones, but six days have shown no connection with home.
Chloe (Elyse Levsque) takes her turn on the stones, and surprise Ginn (Julie McNiven) comes through. She was supposedly in Perry’s (Kathleen Munroe) body, and now has to learn she was murdered. But Perry died as well. So how is Ginn able to be here?
Rush (Robert Carlyle) believes it’s because Chloe fell asleep using the stones, and Ginn’s consciousness was still out there. But now, where is Chloe? And when Eli (David Blue) and Eli find time to reconnect, something horrible happens to her. She seems to be dying.
And there seems to be something seriously wrong with Volker (Patrick Gilmore). He goes to see TJ (Alaina Huffman) and practically collapses. Kidney disease. She starts looking for compatible donors, and the closest matches may be Greer and Scott (Brian J. Smith).
Can she do the transplant?
And what will happen to Chloe/Ginn? Rush believes that Ginn and Chloe may both be inhabiting Chloe’s body. And what happens when Perry surfaces as well? The consciousnesses are all fading and weakening.
Rush has an idea about uploading them into Destiny’s memory. And maybe the neural links that the ship seems to have with the crew will help.
It’s a solid episode, gives Eli some closure, and moves us closer to the end of the series.
