Here we go, the end run for Stargate SG-1. Dominion, the penultimate episode debuted on 15 June, 2007. It was written by Alan McCullough from a story by Alex Levine.
With only two episodes left the series needs to wrap up character and narrative arcs, and that means we are going to see lots of payoffs getting underway.
Vala (Claudia Black) has been having dreams about stargate addresses that could lead to the discovery of something that could stop the Ori. The rest of the team thinks that these could be traps set by Adria (Morena Baccarin). But it’s all a plan. One that Vala took a part of, without a memory of it.
It was all a ploy to draw Adria out. But when Vala and Adria walk into a trap set by Mitchell (Ben Browder), Carter (Amanda Tapping), Teal’c (Christopher Judge) and Daniel (Micheal Shanks). But before she can be taken into custody (with her powers deactivated), Ba’al (Cliff Simon) nabs her for himself (even as we’re reminded that he has clones, or did have).
She has revealed that the Ori are not gone, and her army is massing. And he reveals he has a goa’uld to infect her with.
SG-1 is going to get aboard Ba’al’s ship and get her out, so they can work to end the Ori action, but she is now not only the powerful leader of the Ori, she is also a goa’uld host… specifically, Ba’al’s goa’uld.
SG-1 wants to bring in the Tok’ra to extract Ba’al from Adria, and input a different symbiote. But Ba’al poisons her body… Adria may not survive. Or maybe that’s her new plan… to ascend! And that could end up being a big problem.
If the Ori are dead, like Ba’al claims, she may turn against all of them, if they aren’t ascending may have caused Adria to join the fight against them… it’s a question hanging over the show as it heads into its final episode.

Unending is the series finale so buckle up. Written and directed by Robert C. Cooper, the episode brought the show to a close on 22 June, 2007.
There are lots of fun moments, as SG1 and Landry (Beau Bridges) take the Odyssey to see the Asgard. They are planning to share all their knowledge and technology with Earth to help them in their fight. Because, surprise, the Ori are still around and attack (and also the Asgard are dying out).
Despite the technological advances they are given, the Odyssey isn’t quite ready to take on an Ori fleet. So they go on the run. But they can’t do that endlessly. They need to come up with a plan. Carter evacuates the crew during an attack, but she, Landry and the rest of SG-1 find themselves stuck in a time dilation field created by Carter.
They have years to adapt the Asgard technology to the ship, but what about supplies? Can they find a way to survive, not lose their minds and get the Odyssey up to spec to take on the Ori?
There are some fantastic character moments, they aren’t always easy, but they really illustrate the characters in full and complete ways – the Daniel and Vala thing is really good. In fact everyone gets character moments that shine and illustrate the emotional connection we’ve made with these characters as the long years drag on and they try to find a way to save themselves, and fight the Ori.
It’s a great way to close out the series as we get a glimpse of what could be, but Carter is able to save the day (with lots of help, and a sacrifice) and they are ready to face what is yet to come. The series may end here, but we get two more SG1 adventure with two movies.
So dial up the gate and let’s go!
