The penultimate episode of season three picks up where the last episode ended. Scorpius (Wayne Pygram) is threatening Crichton (Ben Browder) with the destruction of Earth, and the threat of the Scarrans achieving wormhole tech hangs over everything.
What is Moya’s crew going to do?
Into the Lion’s Den: Part 2 – Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing first aired on 28 January, 2002, and was written by series creator Rockne S. O’Bannon.
Crichton confers with everyone, and they decide to blow up the command carrier. And how the frell are they going to pull that off? But they have to get the families and innocents off first.
Crais (Lani John Tupu) reveals the plan to Scorpius, but is that part of the ploy? Or has he gone back to the Peacekeepers in an effort to restore the damaged leviathan, Talyn?
Aeryn sees her past all over the place, and we see that the carrier has some wonderful facilities, but she can never go back. She’s better than they are now, she’s grown.
With everyone captured by Crais’ betrayal, things seem pretty dire.
But the real plan is to give Talyn and Crais a hero’s death. They have time now to get everyone off the carrier, which is ready to become a wormhole weapon. And Talyn… he’s going to starburst inside the carrier, destroying everything, and killing him (and Crais).
Crichton’s role is to reveal as much wormhole info as it takes to carry out the plan. Can everyone escape, before the carrier blows?
It’s a high-stakes episode, and there are tons of powerful emotional beats. We’re so invested in these characters that we get completely wrapped up in their lives. With the escape completed, everyone starts to wonder what and where they will go. There feels like the real possibility that this strange family may be breaking up soon.

Dog with Two Bones closes out the third season. It aired on 31 January, 2002 and was written by David Kemper.
Moya and the crew are taking Talyn’s remains to a leviathan burial ground. Sounds easy right? Nope, there’s still lots going on. The Aeryn (Claudia Black)/Crichton thing, who is leaving Moya, and oh, there’s a rogue leviathan attacking other ships in the area.
Crichton is thinking of picking out wedding dresses with Aeryn in a mostly happy, little fantasy. Or are they visions of a sort?
Everyone is still talking about going their separate ways, and oh, there’s a strange old woman, Utu-Noranti (Melissa Jaffer) on Moya and no one seems to know where she came from. Noranti is the one who is giving Crichton the visions with one of her potions. She’s trying to show him what can and can’t be, and what makes him happy. And the fear he has about going back to Earth with his friends, and who could follow him.
He’ll have to really make a choice about what he wants. And what it means if his friends leave Moya.
Oh and that other leviathan? D’Argo (Anthony Simcoe) may have a plan.
There are choices, secrets, and characters we love. It’s a great way to close out the season. If the last episode wrapped up a lot of action and physical narratives, this one is all about the emotional punches, and the scenes between Aeryn and Crichton are incredible.
And that coin toss…
And the secret revealed, after Aeryn is gone… she’s pregnant.
But before Crichton, Moya and the rest can go after them, Moya and the crew are dragged into a wormhole, and Crichton is left floating in his module, almost out of fuel with a To Be Continued closing the episode out.
