This week, Paul (Robert Hays) and Scott (Christopher Daniel Barnes) learn that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Duty was written by Peggy Goldman and was first broadcast on 6 February, 1987.
On the road passing somewhere close to Reno, the pair pick up Dusty (Lori Lethin) who claims to be a singer in a Vegas lounge who made a mistake when she got into a car with a stranger. Paul and Scott attempt to help her out, but soon discover she’s a compulsive gambler and she’s stolen Paul’s car which has all of their belongings in it, including the spheres which Dusty sells for gambling cash.
Luckily enough for Paul and Scott, the hotel recognizes Paul, and offers up his regular suite, but won’t bend the rules to let Scott on the casino floor, which doesn’t seem to stop the pair from wandering around and chatting with folks when they look for Dusty.
Paul’s abilities let him make some serious cash at the tables, where he is accompanied by the rediscovered Dusty who gives him a sob story to get her to help. Her compulsive gambling seems to have cost her a husband, and her child, but perhaps Paul can help her, but not by gambling.
And, of course, things are complicated by the arrival of George Fox (Michael Cavanaugh) in Reno. He’s willing to pay Dusty for information. Will she be able to withstand the temptation?
How will Paul and Scott help Dusty and her family and elude Fox? Well, as always, there will be reveals, wonder and a last minute escape to continue the journey to find Jenny Hayden.

Barriers was written by Michael Marks and it was first broadcast on 13 February, 1987.
The episode opens with Paul and Scott literally on the run, apparently Fox is close to grabbing them. In fact, Scott ends up in the same gas station convenience store with one of the agents, which prevents him from escaping with Paul.
The alien masquerading as a photographer becomes an illegal alien as he finds himself in Mexico, and must help a pregnant woman, Tonita (Danelle Hand) sneak across the border to look for the father of her child.
In America, Scott is trying to track down his father, and through some work he discovers Paul is in Mexico. What are the chances the pair will be reunited no matter the size of the border? Both he and Tonita are in for some surprises when it comes to the father of her child, an archeologist, Richard (Radames Pera) who didn’t even know she was pregnant, but is so happy to see her.
Of course, the baby is going to be born on the journey, Scott is going to be reunited with his dad, and the wandering haphazard journey to find Jenny continues.
We’ve got six episodes left in the series, and I’ll take a look at a couple more next week as I work my way through The Complete Series, a wonderful extra on the 4K John Carpenter’s Starman found in Sony’s Columbia Classics 4K Ultra HD Collection Volume 4, available now.
