Paramount Pictures went all out to deliver a gorgeous Star Trek with their Picard Legacy Collection. Spanning fifty-four discs, the collection gathers up all seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, relabeled and repackaged, the four Next Gen movies, and all three seasons of Star Trek: Picard.

And that’s just the beginning of what’s in this beautifully created limited edition boxed set. Each set comes with a certificate of authenticity, an exclusive hardcover version of The Wisdom of Picard which over five chapters, each with its own subject, delivers memorable and impactful quotes from Picard spanning all of his appearances.

After you’re done watching all the episodes, and movies, there are still over thirty-five hours of special features as the original extras and commentaries from previous blu-ray releases have been imported onto these discs. All the adventures, all the wonder and the discovery right at your fingertips, I’m in awe of this collection. The artwork, the packaging, it is stunning.

In addition to the glossy, hardcover book which is filled with gorgeous photography, there are more collectibles to be had in the set, there’s a magnetic sheet with five different combadges as featured across the series and movies, there’s a deck of playing cards that have a very Starfleet look to them and a set of Chateau Picard coasters on which to set your glass of wine while playing poker with your fellow officers.

If I hadn’t already watched and written about every episode of Next Generation and their four subsequent movies, I would be digging into every disc of this set and tagged this collection in every review. I haven’t, however, delved into the Picard series episode by episode, so I think you can expect to see that happen in just over two week’s time.

And honestly, I wasn’t getting enough Trek in my viewing diet anyway so that works out perfectly. The picture and the sound on the discs are nothing short of stunning, in the case of The Next Generation, the episodes have been scanned from the original negative and look amazingly bright and clear, they make for a stunning watch, and the films and the Picard series look beautiful, with the sharpest picture and the best sound.

You may have a Trek fan on your holiday gift list, and even if they own The Next Generation or Picard already, this collection will find a place of pride in their collection. This one was made for the fans I think. And it’s a gorgeous way to bundle the adventures of Jean-Luc Picard in one place.

I can’t rave enough about this package, and honestly, I cannot wait to start rewatching Picard and writing about it week to week as I delve into this collection. This, to me, is a must-have, and if you can get your hands on one, beam it up now, and boldly go on the human adventure with Picard and company!
