Chrisjen (Shohreh Aghdashloo) is continuing her hunt for Inaros (Keon Alexander) from her place on Luna, and Naomi (Dominique Tipper) continues to look for her son, Filip (Jasai Chase Owens) in Mother. Written by Dan Nowak, this episode first dropped on 16 December, 2020.
Naomi is able to have a brief conversation with Filip and some of her old compatriots, but nothing solid, and nothing that shows he’s forgiven her for abandoning him.
Drummer (Cara Gee) and her crew finally arrive at Ashford’s scuttled ship and discover the data core he had hidden with info about Inaros. She’s initially inclined to hunt down Inaros for revenge but begins to realize she needs to live for herself and passes the info on to Chrisjen.
Amos (Wes Chatham) is still on Earth, but Alex (Cas Anvar) is on Mars and attempting to pull at the same threads that Drummer and Chrisjen are from a different angle. He runs into some trouble, but happily, Bobbie (Frankie Adams) is there to help him out.
Holden (Steven Strait) and Fred (Chad L. Coleman) remain on Tycho station where Holden is overseeing the repairs on the Roci, and none of them are ready for what happens when Inaros first strike happens… dropping an asteroid down Earth’s gravity well.
All the threads are connected throughout the episode, even if the characters don’t know it. Viewers can see the big picture forming, they already know most of Inaros’ plan, but it’s still a shock when that rock hits.
And it’s a perfectly terrifying spot to end the episode and leave us wondering what happens now.

Gaugamela dropped on 23 December, 2020 and was written by Nowak as well.
Amos is visiting an old friend in prison when the first and second asteroid strikes Earth, killing millions and wreaking environmental disaster on everything.
But that’s just the first move in Inaros’ gambit. Tycho Station finds itself under attack, as it seems that Inaros knows where the last sample of the protomolecule is hidden away, and he’s determined to get his hands on it. And familiar and trusted faces may be working with him.
Filip assaults and kidnaps Naomi, spiriting her away to Inaros’ ship, something the man is shocked (and possibly dismayed) to learn.
When a third rock falls down Earth’s well, the AG, Nancy (Lily Gao) and her staff may be collateral damage. Who’s in charge on Earth? Was the order given to retask the watch towers to take our any more rocks that may be on the way?
It’s a tense episode, and things are escalating dangerously quick.
I love how it plays out, I’m sad to see the changes for some characters, and how events play out for them, but that’s what happens when the stakes continue to climb. Is Naomi in the right place to stop Inaros? Can Holden recover the protomolecule sample? Is Amos ok? Are Alex and Bobbie ready to take down the military members supplying Inaros’ extreme splinter group of the OPA?
Buckle up, cause things are going to get really bumpy from here on out.
