Chuck (2011) – Versus the Frosted Tips, and Versus the Business Trip

Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Morgan (Joshua Gomez) have some problems in Chuck Versus the Frosted Tips. This episode was written by Phil Klemmer and debuted on 11 November, 2011.

The team learns that Morgan has betrayed them and gone to work for Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss), who in turn is eager to start something with Casey (Adam Baldwin). And Morgan is becoming a different person altogether, it seems the Intersect is doing something to him. The stakes are raised when it’s revealed that Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) did not send the intersect-loaded glasses to Chuck, someone else did, and there’s something wrong with it.

So what Morgan has been doing, and the things he’s said, isn’t entirely his fault (even if he broke up with Casey’s daughter, Alex (Mekenna Melvin)) and tells Chuck they aren’t friends.

Chuck has to break through the fog of the download to remind Morgan of who he really is… but when it’s revealed that there is a kill order out on Morgan, that brings everything to a whole new level of danger.

On the homefront, Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) takes on the role of stay at home dad while Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) goes back to work, and Baby Clara and he discover a whole new routine together, which includes getting Jeff (Scott Krinsky) back to a degree of normalcy in his own life.

While most relationships are patched up or progressing by episode’s end, we’re left to wonder about Morgan and Alex, but he may not get a chance to fix it, as his car has been wired to explode…

Chuck Versus the Business Trip was written by Kristin Newman and first aired on 18 November, 2011.

While Morgan attempts to make amends for his behaviour, Chuck and Sarah go undercover in an attempt to flush out a contract killer named The Viper who accepted the kill order put on Morgan by Decker (Richard Burghi).

This involves them going to a BuyMore salesperson celebration, and working the crowds there, while Chuck poses as Morgan, and he and Sarah discuss the unique attributes of their relationship versus those of a ‘normal’ one.

On the homefront Awesome realises Ellie wants to be at home with Clara, and Jeff’s new leaf continues to impact those around him at the BuyMore, causing Lester (Vik Sahay) to take aggressive action to get his best friend back. The plan backfires and causes some serious problems for Lester.

After having flushed out The Viper, and continuing Morgan’s pop culture re-education (which Casey delights in sabotaging), Casey, much like Lester, takes aggressive action to protect his team. He wipes out The Viper and their team completely… allowing the end of the episode, which has a family gathering, including Alex and Morgan working their way back to each other, to be disrupted by the arrival of Decker…

… to arrest Casey for murder.

They are pulling out all the stops for this last season, and there’s only nine episodes left in the series! But the spycraft will continue next week with Chuck!
