Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Chuck (Zachary Levi) have moved in together, but Chuck starts having some strange dreams in Chuck Versus the Tooth.
Written by Zev Borow and Max Denby this episode first aired on 10 May, 2010. General Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) is tired of being woken up by Chuck’s dreams, that have been wreaking havoc with the entire team. So she orders him to see a psychiatrist, Dr. Dreyfus (Christopher Lloyd!).
Chuck is convinced his dreams are the intersect at work, and thinks there is trouble coming at a special concert, but instead, Dreyfus pulls him from duty.
On the BuyMore front, Anna (Julia Ling) walks in the front door looking for Morgan (Joshua Gomez) who blows her off because he’s on a mission with Chuck, who is following the impulses of his dream, against orders. On the home front, Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) and Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) are now back at home. But this may be a move on the part of The Ring to get everyone Chuck cares about in one place as Ellie is approached by Justin (Scott Holroyd), who she met in Africa and is posing as a CIA agent in an attempt to recruit her to watch Chuck, Sarah and Casey (Adam Baldwin).
There’s a fun glimpse of the movie Spies Like Us, which has often been referenced through the series, and of course, had Chevy Chase in a recurring villain role.
As the episode closes, we are left to worry about the reveal that the intersect may cause continued mental deterioration in Chuck’s brain, a secret he keeps from Sarah after she finally tells him she loves him.
But his nightmares of Shaw (Brandon Routh) continue…
Chuck Versus the Living Dead was written by Rafe Judkins and Lauren LeFranc. It debuted on 17 May, 2010.
Ellie contacts her and Chuck’s father, Steve Bartowski (Scott Bakula) at the behest of Justin who continues to lie to her, and he arrives and is worried after he learns Chuck has uploaded the latest intersect into his head.
Morgan, meanwhile, gets recruited for another mission, aiding Chuck, as they worry that Shaw may still be alive. Eventually the rest of the team gets pulled in on it, and Chuck and Sarah have some static because they go through the events she and Shaw did while they were in D.C.
Casey watches over Ellie, and suspects that she’s having an affair, and not being co-opted, and Steve is still intent on keeping his family safe. Steve has been working on something to help control the way the intersect overheats the mind, he calls it the governor, and it will help control the neural input and possibly save Chuck’s brain. But everything is going to begin to spiral as Ellie comes in, leading us towards the season three finale.
More spycraft next week as season three comes to an end.
