Now this – THIS movie is what my dreams were made of!  I wanted to go to space – at least to Space Camp – so that I could learn all I needed to know about becoming an astronaut.  The effects were actually pretty good for the time, and don’t look completely ridiculous today.  And I still feel a certain kinship with all the characters, in that they all have qualities that I saw in myself when I was that age.

Besides, who wouldn’t want a robot pal hanging around (who could potentially launch you into space)?  And how amazing does Kate Capshaw look with dark hair?

I love this film to this day, and even watching the trailer gets me excited to view the entire movie all over again!
