Sue and I walked out of the Rick Springfield doc An Affair of the Heart, at the Hot Docs Film Festival, won over as fans.
I admittedly knew little of Rick, but for the fact that he was in the original Battlestar Galactica series opener as Apollo’s doomed brother, and of course Jessie’s Girl.
But apparently, I am exactly who this film is aimed at, as the film’s director Sylvia Caminer and its producer Melanie Lentz-Janney told us, when we met them.
We had hoped to be able to talk to Rick, but had just missed an interview window, but who knows… maybe next time…
However, chatting with Sylvia and Melanie was fun, and brilliant and as nice peek behind the film.
Before you tune in to this chat with these two wonderful, engaging, and smart women of film, I should tell you that we have not edited this podcast at all. The audio is raw with all it’s imperfections, we thought we’d rather post it in time for people to hear it and go see the film’s final screening at Hot Docs on Thursday May 3 at 6:30 at the Cumberland.
But please join Sue and I on a wonderful evening in Toronto, chatting about Rick Springfield and An Affair of The Heart with Sylvia Caminer & Melanie Lentz-Janney.
