Broken Ties is a Ronon (Jason Momoa) story that was written by Joseph Mallozzi an Paul Mullie an first aired on 25 July, 2008.
He’s captured by his old friend, Tyre (Mark Dacascos), who last time he appeared we learned is a devout Wraith worshipper now. He’s hands Ronon over to the Wraith who work at brainwashing them.
Tyre isn’t in the best shape anymore, the Wraith have ousted him an he’s dying because of it. Ronon may be his way back in. And the Wraith may have another soldier in their army if they can convert him. Ronon fights to hold on, and Tyre is betrayed by the Wraith and left behind when they leave.
Sheppard (Joe Flanigan), McKay (David Hewlett) and Teyla (Rachel Luttrell) head out to run down leads, with Woolsey’s (Robert Picardo) okay first. There’s also some discussion if Teyla is returning to active duty following the birth of her child. There are confrontations with both Woolsey and Sheppard; Teyla needs to make a decision.
Tyree is dying in Atlantis, a form of withdrawal from the Wraith, and Ronon is dying under the feeding and torture of the Wraith. Can he survive? Will he serve the Wraith? Will he be rescued?
When Sheppard and his team, along with Tyre arrive, betrayals all around… Is there a way out? Can Ronon be saved? He’s gonna come down hard, and it’s gonna be rough as he processes out the Wraith enzyme.
Three episodes into the fifth season and two of them have involved the Wraith. Are we building towards a final confrontation as we begin the run towards the series finale? It’s still a ways off yet.
This is a solid episode, Momoa easily holds the camera and the viewer’s attention. The story keeps the Wraith arc front and center.

The Daedalus Variations first aired on 1 August, 2008. It was written by Alan McCullough.
The Daedalus is discovered in orbit over Atlantis’ planet, deserted. There are no life signs aboard. Things get even more curious when a report from Stargate Command confirms that the Daedalus is on its way to the Milky Way.
So what the hell is this ship?
When Sheppard and his team go to investigate and discover what happened, they discover it’s a ship from an alternate universe. A strange energy burst transports the Daedalus and Sheppard’s team back to the universe it originated from. Can the team find their way back? And how safe is this alternate realm?
Things take a macabre turn when the team finds their alternate versions of themselves… dead. They were on the same mission, to discover where this Daedalus came from. There’s a temporal capacitor that will allow the ship to shift through other timelines, but how can they find their original universe? Is there a way home? Are there new and dangerous enemies out there?
I dig stories like this; messing with alternate realities, different versions of things and people we know. And this one is done really well.
