The final season of Stargate SG-1 began on 14 July, 2006 with the episode, Flesh and Blood. Written by Robert C. Cooper, the episode picks up with the Ori arc right away.
The Ori invasion continues, a large portion of the human fleet has been destroyed. Vala (Claudia Black) delivers her baby, who grows at an accelerated rate, shades of V-The Final Battle. She is part Ori apparently.
Vala tries to persuade the growing child, Adria (Jodelle Ferland, and Brenna O’Brien) that the Ori are evil, or at least wrong in their purpose and conquest.
Teal’c (Christopher Judge with a haircut between seasons) is still a prisoner while Daniel (Micheal Shanks) thinks he’s figured out what Merlin’s secret weapon looks like, if only he could find it. But first, Daniel has to go get Vala. Maybe the pair of them can convince Adria about the Ori, who are still working at circumventing the Ascension rule book.
Mitchell (Ben Browder) works on rescuing Carter (Amanda Tapping) from where she’s floating in space, slowly running out of air. From there, they have to rescue Teal’c and get the ship away from the Ori threat.
Bra’tac (Tony Amendola) arrives with information that the Ori are on their way to the Jaffa planet, Chulak.
By episode’s end, the gang is back together, and ready to continue their fight against the Ori. But Adria is out there.
Is SG-1 ready for the fight to come? Do they have the allies, the skills? Carter reminds us that the Goa’uld were stopped. They can stop the Ori. They just need a plan…

Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie penned Morpheus which first aired on 21 July, 2006.
While Landry (Beau Bridges) tries to figure out if Vala can be trusted and stay at Stargate Command, SG-1 heads out in their quest to find Merlin’s weaponm the Holy Grail, and end up in trouble off-world.
It seems there’s some sort of parasite feeding on people while they sleep. Can SG-1 and the med team that comes after them figure out how to save the day.
Back at the SGC, Vala has to go under a psychiatric examination to help Landry evaluate her (there’s a nod to Blade Runner in the tests). Daniel, surprisingly makes an argument for Vala to join the team.
The two stories are very different. The medical story is solid. Vala’s tale is kind of silly, but it does bring Woolsey (Robert Picardo) back again. Who offers Vala deal, spy on the inner workings of the SGC for him, and he’ll make sure she passes all her tests.
Vala proves herself, the team survives the bug though have a tough time staying awake to do it. Not the strongest episode however to carry the series and the season forward.
