Stargate SG-1 (2004) – Sacrifices, and Endgame

Christopher Judge wrote Sacrifices, which first aired on 10 September, 2004. So we know what that means, it’s gonna be a Jaffa heavy episode.

This time out, Teal’c (Judge) is less than thrilled to learn that his son, Rya’c (Neil Denis) is planning on getting married – without even consulting him! He and Ka’ryn (Mercedes de la Zerda), one of Ishta’s (Jolene Blalock) warriors, are eager to marry, with Bra’tac (Tony Amendola) set to officiate.

Ishta is also concerned that there planet, Hak’tyl may be compromised.

Until they can find another world to call home, O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) welcomes them to Stargate Command. That will, of course, cause problems for everyone as Rya’c and his bride-to-be are onsite (and planning on marrying there), and Teal’c is less than thrilled that Ishta supports it.

The youngsters are both a handful. Rya’c clings to some of the old ways, while Ka’ryn is smart, strong-willed and independent. And that is going to cause a number of issues during the ceremony, showing the clash of the strong feminine and the ‘traditional’ masculine.

While all that goes on, Ishta and Teal’c are having problems with each other, and the problem of Hak’tyl, and finding a new home.

Oh and Moloc (Royston Innes), a Goa’uld warlord shows up and that’s not going to go well for anyone.

Will all of the things going on allow Teal’c and Ishta to reach an understanding, and will the kids figure out that they do love and respect one another not only as people but as warriors?

Endgame is the mid-season finale. It debuted on 17 September, 2004 and was written by Paul Mullie and Joseph Mallozzi.

When the SGC’s gate is beamed away from the installation, countless teams, including Teal’c are stranded off-world.

Carter (Amanda Tapping) and Daniel (Michael Shanks) set out to find who took it, and recover it.

So who stole it? And why?

The pair, and a team find more questions than answers as they try to get a handle on things. And those lead them to Area 51, and the mysterious text message Daniel got a few episodes back.

Teal’c discovers that a rebel camp of Jaffa have been killed off. Goa’uld poison! He needs information, and has to go to an undercover Tok’ra, Zarin (Brandy Ledford) who is posing as a brutal systemlord.

Problems for everyone keep mounting. Of course, it’s the group known as the Trust, causing problems on Earth. And the poison is coming from Earth, as the Trust prepares to launch a number of attacks against the Goa’uld, and they view the rebel Jaffa as acceptable losses. They’re using the stolen Stargate to dial up Goa’uld controlled worlds and firing rockets carrying the poison to wipe them out.

Daniel gets to be an action hero, while O’Neill remains at the SGC, and everything races to its climax. The team is reunited, the gate recovered, but the Trust are still out there, and they have the poison.
