Teal’c (Christopher Judge) has a new apartment, and is making a name for himself in his neighbourhood. He’s finally living off base! But things are going to get complicated for him pretty quickly.
Written and directed by Peter DeLuise, this episode first aired on 20 August, 2004.
Complications arrive in the form of Krista (Erica Durance). She’s in an abusive relationship with Doug (Derek Hamilton) and Teal’c warns him to knock it off, or he’ll kill him. Then, surprise, surprise, Doug ends up dead.
Daniel (Michael Shanks) has been trying to counsel Teal’c on keeping a low profile, but now, he needs to help Teal’c prove his innocence. And if Teal’c is innocent, who’s he murderer? Well, there are only so many guest stars in the episode.
Or is there something else going on… Daniel gets a strange message, translate a Goa’uld text, and evidence of Teal’c’s innocence will be his.
On the base, O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) is dealing with admin, and people upset over Teal’c’s public life. And we also get to check in on Carter (Amanda Tapping) and Pete (David DeLuise), whose relationship seems to be progressing… and there may be a big step in their near future. Something she may or may not be ready for. This leads to a chat between her and O’Neill.
I know the episode needed to have the abusive boyfriend angle, but I really enjoyed the rest of the story that just let the characters enjoy their little slice of life away from saving the galaxy for a change.

Covenant debuted on 27 August, 2004 and was written by Ronald Wilkerson and Robert C. Cooper from a story by Wilkerson and it puts SG-1 right in the hotseat!
Alec Colson (Charles Shaughnessy) is the owner and CEO of Colson Industries. He’s just made an incredible claim to the media of the world, alien life exists, and he has proof!!
Does he have footage of the battle of Antarctica? Nope, he has captured a living Asgard! He doesn’t say this up front, he’s going to give the nations of the world, those in the know, twenty-four hours to reveal the truth. If they don’t he will.
Carter and Daniel attempt to talk to him to no avail, and Julia Donovan (Kendall Cross) the reporter from the Prometheus incident is reaching out for interviews.
Can they spin it? Can they discredit Colson and his company? Should they? And the Asgard Colson has?
And what happens when Colson’s plane comes down? He survives, but is someone out to get him?
Can SG-1 help Colson and show him why its important that the secret be kept for now. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t people like me hoping for disclosure. I like the reasons why they keep it secret in the series, here it’s a little noble. But I still think we need to know…
