Joel (Rob Morrow) is excited to welcome his parents, Nadine (Joanna Merlin) and Herb (David Margulies), to Cicely. They are flown in by Maggie (Janine Turner)and he’s excited but anxious to be reunited with them.
Written by Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess, Birds of a Feather first aired on 1 November, 1993.
Shelly (Cynthia Geary) is a little concerned when she learns that Holling (John Cullum) is kind of over sports. Who will teach their baby all the ins and outs of catch? Things escalate until he actually blows up at the clientele of the Brick because they are all poking fun at him for not like sports.
Nadine forms a unique connection with Marilyn (Elaine Miles) when they observe some eagles, and Herb seems endlessly unhappy about everything, and keeps his answers pretty monosyllabic. He also is a bit of a handyman and has tons of recommendations about everything.
Nadine learns to be a little quieter and be. And has a bit of a mystical experience when she falls… I like her story but some of the effects for putting the eagles on the screen don’t really work.
And Herb? And Joel? They are having problems when Herb begins to make diagnosis for Joel’s patients. He just wants to help in his own way, but gets in his own way. Will the two find a way to sort themselves out before his parents leave?

Rosebud was written by Barbara Hall and it first debuted on 8 November, 1993.
Ed (Darren E. Burrows) is struggling to find his way, Leonard (Graham Greene) i sending him information on poultices to help with his shaman training, but what about his love of film? Maurice (Barry Corbin) wants to have a large stylish hotel built in Cicely, and thinks a film festival might be the anchor they need. And the person to run it? Ed.
Ed finds himself drawn between Leonard and director Peter Bogdanovich who is in town as a possible speaker at the festival. What path will he choose?
Ruth-Anne (Peg Phillips) is training the volunteer fire department and asks Joel to take part. When he refuses he begins to feel guilty, especially when both Maggie, Holling and Chris (John Corbett) seem to be involved.
Karma hits when Joel’s truck catches fire.
Both Joel and Ed make decisions that will have a big effect on their lives, and as a film fan, it made me smile to see Ed finally sitting down to work on a script.
Leonard is also looking to document the stories of white culture to see if there are comparisons to Native American mythologies. And all there is are odd stories and urban legends.
