Crichton (Ben Browder) is a statue. There’s a Peacekeeper spy working within the royal court, and a number of people are ready to seize power.
After an assassination attempt and a rescue by Scorpius (Wayne Pygram), Crichton is restored to flesh and spirited away by the spy. Will he be able to stop the Scarran ‘diplomats’ and their attempt to install their own regent?
The plot makes for unusual bedfellows, D’Argo (Anthiny Simcoe) and Scorpius realize they may have to work together to get Crichton away from the Scarran, and resume his own hunt for him in the future.
And happily, the relationship between D’Argo and Chiana (Gigi Edgley) seems to be going very well. Until things get complicated with the Scarrans and their interrogation methods, and Scorpius and D’Argo confront the Scarran.
Written by David Kemper the final installment of Look at the Princess, The Maltese Crichton, debuted on 4 August, 2000.
Aeryn (Claudia Black) has gone off climbing with Dregon (Aaron James Cash) who isn’t as skilled at climbing as he claims, and causes a fall for the pair of them.
On Moya, Zhaan (Virgina Hey) argues with Kahaynu (Jonathan Hardy) about letting the leviathan live. But the person really on trial here isn’t Moya, but Zhaan, to see if she would use Moya to create more gunships like Talyn. She would never, so Kahaynu spares them.
By the end of the episode, the group is reunited, more worn, more hurt, physically and emotionally, and despite surviving, there may be something very wrong with Crichton.
And that ending!
Beware of Dog was written by Naren Shankar and it first debuted on 11 August, 2000.
Chiana and D’Argo bring aboard a creature known as a Vorc that will hunt down parasites that may or may not be on the ship. It’s not housebroken, humps Aeryn’s legs and may or may not be reliable in tracking down the parasite, which attacks D’Argo and infects him with a poison.
But what if the Vorc and the parasite are the same thing? He’s bitten Aeryn, D’Argo and Rygel (voiced by Jonathan Hardy), two of whom fall ill, and it finally leads Crichton and Aeryn to the parasites cocoon. What’s going on? Oh boy, body snatchers, badly behaved aliens, and lots of misunderstandings along the way. Yup, this is Farscape.
And there is something incredibly wrong with Crichton. He’s seeing Scoripus everywhere. And the villain is taunting Crichton at every step of the way.
Sure, the gang survives the episode, but Crichton is getting worse. He confides in Aeryn, and reveals that he wasn’t able to kill Scorpius, something stopped him. And the stakes just got upped again, as Crichton’s continued sanity is called into question
Can’t wait to see how the story continues to play out, as I don’t remember all of it from my previous watch, but I know there is action, heartbreak, and so much more to come.
