Graham Greene shows up as Leonard, who is working on totem for Marilyn’s (Elaine Miles) family. When it’s revealed that causes a bit of rift between parts of the family which has fallout all over town.
Written by David Assael, Family Feud was first broadcast on 8 March, 1993.
While all of the problems arise, Shelley (Cynthia Geary) discovers her own issue. She’s seeing dancers everywhere, ballet dancers, tap dancers… what’s it all mean? It’s also affecting all manner of her life, she forgets to wear shoes, she’s screwing up orders at The Brick.
She turns to help, and Chris (John Corbett) may have the answer, but if he doesn’t maybe Leonard will be able to help.
What is going on? She needs to get married. Are she and Holling (John Cullum) finally going to tie the knot?
And Joel (Rob Morrow) is having a real issue with the developing relationship between Maggie (Janine Turner) and Mike (Anthony Edwards). That is, of course, going to be all manner of trouble between the two. So who are they to each other?
Of course, the totem is able to get sorted to everyone’s satisfaction, Shelley and Holling tie the knot, and after a lengthy conversation, Maggie and Joel can figure out how to refer to each other, and accept that they are incompatible.
And I do like when Graham Greene shows up in anything. He’s a fantastic actor. And now that he’s shown up once, he could show up again. I guess I’ll have to wait and find out.
Homesick was written by Jeff Vlaming and was first broadcast on 15 March, 1993.
Maurice (Barry Corbin) has his childhood home transported to Cicely and soon finds himself enmeshed in memories of his past. It ends up being a really nice arc for Maurice.
Shelley is settling into the idea of being Mrs. Holling Vincouer, and that means redecorating. Holling is not prepared for the changes to come and for the first time in his life has some sever digestive issues because of it. And Joel understands completely when he sees the changes Shelley has done to the Vincoeur home. Can Holling and Shelley find an equitable balance?
Mike reveals to Maggie that he’s practically cured! It may have been her influence on him, a boyfriend living instead of dying! But he now wants to do his part, he registers for Greenpeace, and they immediately send him off on his next adventure.
Maggie, understandably has a hard time dealing with this, and of course, this is cause for a fun dream sequence.
This is a charming episode, and you can’t help but feel bad for Maggie, she and Mike finally took the step forward and then he leaves. But also Mike has to do what he feels is right, and he wants to do his part to save the world.
Just a wonderful ep.
