Daniel clashes with Steven (Ben Bass) his professor’s protege, and reconnects with an old flame, and fellow researcher, Sarah (Anna-Louise Plowman).
As Daniel sees the work the professor was working on, he discovers that one of the canopic jars actually contained a Goa’uld. He finds some markings that make him suspect there’s more going on, and the Goa’uld involved may be Osiris.
Back at Stargate Command, Hammond (Don S. Davis) sends the rest of SG-1 on some personal leave. Carter (Amanda Tapping) works on some project, and O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) and Teal’c (Christopher Judge) go fishing.
Daniel begins to suspect that Steven has been taken over by a Goa’uld. Consequently, he goes after him, joined by Carter, and Fraiser (Teryl Rothery). The chase leads to Egypt, and that is where the truth is revealed. Sarah has been taken over by the Goa’uld, she has become Osiris.
Looks like there’s a new baddie to be hunted down by the SGC as she makes an escape in a hidden craft buried beneath the desert sands.

While on his homeworld of Chulak, Teal’c is beginning to make overtures about other Jaffa turning from the system lords and joining the fight for freedom. Unfortunately, he is betrayed by Rak’nor (Obi Ndefo), captured and tortured by Terok (Paul Koslo) who works for the system lord, Heru’ur (Douglas Arthurs).
Unfortunately, his teammates don’t know that he’s been captured and are on a mission with the Tok’ra. Jacob (Carmen Argenziano) has recruited SG-1 to grab a mining operation. The mines are troublesome, and despite the prep Daniel has done, there’s nothing to decipher, and they are going to have to figure out another way.
Soon enough the tension gets ratcheted up as Jacob must hold their ship in position while Carter and Daniel work on the mine.
While they are working on the mines, they learn that Heru’ur is offering Teal’c to Apophis (Peter Williams) as a chance to cement an alliance between them.
Unfortunately, there rescue attempt fails. How will they save their friend?
Through it all, Rak’nor has watched Teal’c suffer, but never break at Terok’s hands. He has seen Teal’c hold to his convictions, and has become convinced that Teal’c is right. So it may be up to him to get him out and back to the SGC.
