Magnum (Jay Hernandez) takes a case to help find a young girl’s missing cat, Mittens, and he also gets an iconic shirt from Higgins (Perdita Weeks) in The Cat Who Cried Wolf. Written by Neil Tolkin, this episode first debuted on 5 November, 2018.
Cecilia (Stella Edwards) is missing her cat and Magnum takes the case. It helps that Cecilia’s mother, Isabelle (Navi Rawat) is really attractive.
Despite being allergic to felines, Magnum investigates, but it soon leads somewhere Thomas didn’t expect, another cat, who has a murdered owner, a FBI agent. Unfortunately, when he and Higgins bring Katsumoto (Tim Kang) to the location following a chase and Magnum getting hit by a car, the body is missing.
As Thomas investigates he finds that he doesn’t know as much about pets as everyone else seems to, so T.C. (Stephen Hill) and Rick (Zachary Kingston) track down the dead man’s address, and he begins to put together what really happened.
The location the body was found was being used as a safehouse by the FBI, and the agent was killed while the witness, Fraser (Austin Basis) was grabbed, and Katsumoto recognizes the killer, another FBI agent, Nadella (Carlos Sanz), who is also working for the people who want Fraser dead.
While Higgins saves Fraser, Nadella grabs Magnum, and a final confrontation at sea takes place with Magnum’s friends desperately looking for him. Which brings us in exactly where the episode started, a teaser of an exploding boat and Magnum surfacing.
In the end, Thomas solves the case, gets Nadella, and his friends find him, but will he find Mittens and get a date with Isabelle? And will he wear his new shirt?

Die He Said sees Magnum working to connect two brothers, and recalling an incident from his own past that may be similar. Written by Joe Gazzam, and directed by Peter Weller, this episode was first broadcast on 12 November, 2018.
Thomas is approached by William Malua (C.S. Lee), a man dying from lymphoma. He needs a bone marrow donor to help save his life, and the one person he knows will be a match for him is his estranged brother, Bobby (Karl Yune). William sees it as a change to not only save his life, but also to make amends with his brother, Magnum sees it as a chance to break in his new shirt.
Seriously, he’s wearing the shirt Higgins gave him at the end of the previous episode.
But when Magnum finds Bobby, this brother needs Thomas’ help as well trying to get out of from a drug dealer who is using Bobby’s store as a stash and keep his family safe.
Magnum recalls a time when he was in-country, and how he disobeyed a direct order to rescue a doctor so that he could help a dying man. That means not only do we get to see Magnum, Rick and T.C. in action in the flashbacks, but their old ally, Nuzo (Domenick Lombardozzi) as well.
Magnum is determined to make sure that this time things play out much better than the last time, and he, Rick and T.C. will have to do all they can to save both brothers.
There’s more coming Thursday as I explore more of Magnum P.I. – The Complete Series on DVD, available now from Paramount Canada, aloha!
